Now that I am preparing for my UL-B certificate, I need to get the hang of the various V-speeds used in general aviation. If you think there would be about 5, that is just incorrect! There are about 10-20 different V-speeds and each one is critical for safe flight operations. In this post, I want to make sure that I list those down in a tabular format with easy to understand meanings that are useful for any aspiring pilots. Sometimes it is easy to misinterpret the meaning of these speeds when glancing over the flight manual or a POH leading to unsafe decisions. The speeds are specific to each aircraft and are listed in the Pilot Operating Handbook (POH) of the aircraft. I will list the common V-speeds that are applicable to most light aircrafts.
